Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Worst Episode From Every Season

3. Season Five - Return To Skyfire

It's like the writers were thinking, "You know what everyone wants to see again? D.C. Parlov!" and the fans just replied, "Oh, okay, yeah, I guess". "The Skyfire Cycle" was an excellent little episode, and no one was asking to return to it, but that's what happened here, and it failed to capture any magic.

Here, Jake, Terry and Rosa go undercover at a convention to find out who has stolen D.C. Parlov's latest manuscript. Also, Boyle, Holt, and Santiago try their best to impress a forensics instructor who has the power to bump up the Nine-Nine's forensics lab.

The issue with this one is that the entire thing is a rehash. The convention storyline mostly sticks to the same jokes at the expense of geek/fantasy culture and shows Jake/Terry getting way too excited over it - although the jokes about Rosa looking like every steampunk heroine is hilarious.

Alongside this, the forensics narrative is yet another display of Amy and Holt's over-competitive nature, and their lack of concern for Boyle's feelings and face - after he gets stuck in a plaster cast - makes them seem like jerks.

There's nothing original to this one, and that makes it a snore-fest.
