Diving into yet another season three episode, this time "The Prom" which acts as a penultimate episode before the season finale's two-parter special.

Buffy must stop some demonic hell hounds that have been brainwashed into attacking anyone dressed in formal wear due to some jealous idiot named Tucker Wells. We can assume he got rejected by the girl of his dreams and decided to ruin the night for everyone. Thankfully Buffy doesn't allow that to happen, saving the prom and everyone inside, with them being none the wiser. Awesome.

Once Buffy can finally join the prom, we get to see the most badass and beautiful moment: the class protector award being handed to her. Jonathon, a young man Buffy has saved on numerous occasions, gives the speech, "We don't talk about it much, but it's no secret that Sunnydale High isn't really like other high schools... But whenever there was a problem or something creepy happened, you seemed to show up and stop it. Most of the people here have been saved by you... the class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history... And we know at least part of that is because of you".

All this time Buffy thought that she was invisible, that her deeds of saving the world every night were going unnoticed, and she was fine with that. But there is something so gratifying about getting to see Buffy receive the recognition she so deserves.
