Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Worst Things Xander Ever Did

For Buffy and friends, as with many other young people, the College Years are a time of great change, learning about yourself and who you want to be as an adult. One of the biggest changes for the Scooby Gang is when Willow comes out as a lesbian, embarking on a relationship with her fellow witch, Tara.

Buffy, while surprised, is supportive of Willow right from the start, and on the surface, Xander is too. However, a few comments he makes regarding Willow's relationship in the latter part of season two show that he doesn't quite understand the seriousness or permanence of Willow's new love.

During Xander's fantasy sequence in the episode Restless, he imagines a scantily clad Willow and Tara in the back of his van, supposedly inviting him for a threesome. This shows that, at least at that point, he views Willow's relationship as something to lust over. He fantasises about his best friend and her girlfriend rather than his own girlfriend, Anya. Definitely not a good look.

While played off at the time as something of a joke, fetishising his best friend's relationship does not paint Xander in a great light.
