Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Major Relationship Ranked Worst To Best

1. Willow & Tara

As great as many of these relationships are, though, none can compete with the perfection of Willow and Tara's groundbreaking, adorable and ultimately tragic romance between seasons four and six.

Not only was Willow's coming out story a landmark in TV history, but watching her realise her feelings for Tara - perhaps the most genuinely likable, innocent soul to ever grace Buffy's ugly world - remains one of the most beautiful developments of the entire series.

Sure they had their issues when it came to Willow's brief magic addiction, but despite this hiccup were undeniably the best couple of the show, noticeably made for each other and a strong, magical team to boot.

Even after all these years, the fact that Tara had to die so Willow could become season six's main antagonist is a bitter pill to swallow, but this horrific conclusion does nothing to dampen the great relationship they had beforehand. Pure bliss.
