Nightmares is as simple as simple concepts come, following the gang as they're haunted by their worst dreams in the real world and must race to save themselves.

Equally parts genuinely scary and refreshingly funny, the episode has Xander hunted by a killer clown he hilariously stands up to, follows Willow as she's forced to perform a play in front of a live audience, and finally reveals that Buffy's worst fear is that she'll be turned into a vampire.

Imaginative in its concept but even more accomplished in its execution, Nightmares is a definite high-point for Buffy's early years, and watching it all these years later makes it clear the series has so much left to say and do.
