12. S.W.A.T.
The reboot of classic 1970s police procedural series S.W.A.T. has been a huge ratings success for CBS, though the last three seasons of its existence have been one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
In May 2023, the network announced that S.W.A.T.'s recently concluded sixth season would be its last, due to CBS and Sony Pictures Television failing to come to a licensing agreement combined with the show's rising costs.
However, mere days later the show was un-cancelled as the parties came to terms for a seventh and apparently final season.
But in April 2024, while season seven was airing, CBS gave it a second stay of execution, renewing it once more for an eighth season.
In March 2025, however, CBS announced that S.W.A.T. had been cancelled for the third and apparently final time, with its season eight finale also serving as a series finale.
Though fans were naturally left devastated, it had a good run.
