Community: 5 Reasons To Be Excited For Season 5

4. They Might Bring Back Dan Harmon

danharmon1 Alright, this may sound hypocritical of me having just ranted on about how I think Port and Guarascio will do a lot better this season, but wouldn't it be even better if the guy who started everything were back? As unlikely as this seems, allow me to explain... While there's never been any official announcement as to the cause of Dan Harmon's firing/suggested retirement, it's pretty clear to everyone that it was because of a pretty public feud with Chevy Chase. It was attracting some pretty negative attention, which can be bad for anything. So imagine you're NBC, and you need to let someone go. Do you fire Chevy Chase, comedy legend and movie star whom nearly everyone recognizes? Or do you fire Dan Harmon, the weird guy with a scruffy beard nobody has ever heard about ever? But with Chevy Chase now gone, what's stopping them from bringing Harmon back? Sure, he has a new show on Adult Swim (an animated show called Rick And Morty), but plenty of people have helmed multiple shows at once. Steven Moffat, who runs Doctor Who and Sherlock, or Matt Groening who created The Simpsons and Futurama. How about Seth MacFarlane, who created and acts in Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show? For my final point: This is NBC. Think back to another show they had - Saturday Night Live. For the first five years, they had gobs of faithful followers and some pretty good reviews. Then, creator and producer Lorne Michaels left to pursue other opportunities. And what happened? Disaster. For five years the show was reviled, and so NBC brought back the man who somehow made it work - Lorne Michaels. Why not do the same with Community and Dan Harmon?
