Community Pulls In Record High Ratings Last Night

The series still came in fourth place for the night, eeking past Parks and Rec. and coming up just shy of Whitney with 4 million of viewers. For those who have been following along Whitney was NBC's plan to up their Thursday night ratings after Community failed to do so. So much for that NBC. We can only imagine that last nights ratings have at least something to do with the hype surrounding NBC's surprise news. And good thing too. "Foosball" was a truly awesome example of the series at its best. If you happened to tune in just to see what everyone was blabbering about, you were in for a real treat. The Community cast and crew have been taking the news in stride. Creator Dan Harmon commented on the news on his Twitter with "Streets ahold!" a reference to a made up saying invented by the show. Joel Mchale and Alison Brie both retweeted the comment with their own inside jokes. Fans of the show haven't taken the news so slightly. There has been a general outcry from the Internet, with some people even starting a Twitter campaign to try and get the show back on as soon as possible. Still, NBC has already confirmed that the show is in no way cancelled, just on an indefinite hiatus. What exactly that is supposed to mean has yet to actual be addressed. We could care less when the show is on, we're still going tune in every week (or watch it on Hulu the next day). Which is a really convenient segway for the next bit of Community news that hit the intertubes today. The show has just signed an exclusive deal with Hulu for its entire catalog. That's right, starting today, past Community will be available exclusively on Hulu Plus, from the pilot to the newest episode. Sorry Netflix users. If Criterion's similar deal didn't push you over to Hulu, maybe this will? With the show finally starting to bloom, we can only hope that all of these setbacks won't damage the show permanently. They got at least a few more seasons in them. Or maybe six seasons and a movie!
