Constantine: 17 Easter Eggs And References You Need To See
6. Don't Look At The Medusa Mask
Seriously, that whole bunker is just a treasure trove of references to the great and the weird of DC Comics history. Besides the Doctor Fate helmet that appears fairly early on and was featured heavily in publicity materials, the former hideout of Jasper Winters also boasts the Medusa Mask - you can be forgiven for not noticing it, since the camera rarely strays particularly close to it, preferring instead to focus on the time-bending mirror it shares a mantel with. In actuality they were originally three mask, but, well, let's just explain. Bestowing upon the wearer the power to project emotions onto others, criminal Roger Hayden merged them all into a single faceplate and used them to become a supervillain. Basically he's a stirrer on a huge scale, able to manipulate people's emotions or intensify emotions a person already feels, no matter how small. During the nineties he also sapped people's emotions like a needy vampire, so it'll be interesting to see how they spin that on TV.
