Curb Your Enthusiasm: 10 Moments Where Larry David Was Right

7. Taking Without Asking €“ (S7, Ep 1)

Curb Your Enthusiasm DoctorThe Context: Larry discusses his girlfriend Loretta Black€™s cancer diagnosis with the doctor in his kitchen. The Issue: The rules and regulations of kitchen conventions come into play in this particular scene. Larry and the doctor have been speaking for a good few minutes, and host Larry is yet to offer his guest a beverage. Now, usually if someone wants a drink in another person€™s house, they will eventually decide to ask if an offer fails to present itself. Instead, the doctor opens the fridge mid conversation, rummages through the contents (even picking up a juice container before putting it back), and eventually lands on a Minute Maid can of lemonade. THE CHUTZPAH! Whose to say whether that was Larry€™s last can of lemonade in the house? Why couldn€™t he of just asked? Sure Larry can be a selfish old fella a lot of the time, but over something like this he would never refuse! Disgraceful kitchen etiquette!
