The most curious character to be included in the main cast of Legends of Tomorrow is Dr. Martin Stein. While his intellect as established during his time over on The Flash would certainly be invaluable to the team, his status as one half of a combustible hero makes him a dubious candidate for fieldwork. Victor Garber’s Martin Stein is the brains of Firestorm; Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond is the brawn. With no Robbie Amell in sight in the first look, it appears that only one half of Firestorm will be a regular on Legends of Tomorrow.

Fortunately for the motley crew of legends-to-be, at least they got the supergenius half. Stein may not be able to light his body on fire and zoom off into the sky at will, but his comparatively serious science may well be enough to counter the goofy eagerness of Ray Palmer’s brand of intellect.
