Regardless of what changes in the past, some things are still just meant to be. And one of those, seemingly, is that Lewis Snart is destined to go to prison. Even though Captain Cold stops his father from stealing the Maximillian Emerald that would lead to his 5-year stay in Iron Heights, his old man still ends up getting pinched for being in possession of this prize and trying to sell it to an undercover cop. As such, Lewis is still going to prison for a 5-year stretch, is still going to beat his children when he gets out, and is still going to give his kids a truly torrid childhood that will eventually lead to them both becoming villains of their own.
