Disenchantment Part 2: 10 Best Moments
8. Jerry’s Revenge
You give David Herman a script and you get laughs. That's just how it works.
He already plays a whole host of great characters in Disenchantment (and Futurama), but Jerry was a newcomer to Part Two. He initially seems like he's just some dullard Bean's aunt and uncle keep around for the donkey work, in the show purely for comic relief. As Bean feels increasingly unsure in Maru, he develops into a plot device for her to work things through with.
Luci is locked away and Elfo is in Heaven, so she needs someone to talk to.
It's later revealed that Jerry is related to Bean, and that his dull wit is due to the spiked crown placed upon all who are worthy. Jerry, evidently having failed the test, has suffered massive brain damage from the screws through his skull.
When Bean finally makes her escape with Luci in tow, Jerry smashes Dagmar's head in with a hammer to come to Bean's aid. We connected a lot with Jerry in the short space of time he was on screen, and it was great to see him be rewarded in Heaven afterwards.
