Disenchantment Part 2: 10 Best Moments

It’s been clear since Part One that Odval is a Machiavellian schemer only out for himself. While the big revelation last time around was his secret sex society, this time it’s clear he knows much more than he’s letting on.

Aside from the destroyed airship and Bean’s knowledge, the only thing from Steamland in Dreamland (that we know of) is the pistol Bean brought back with her.

Zog is shot while Bean wrestles with his guard, but even before that it’s clear Odval knows its power. Whenever anyone mishandles the weapon, by blowing into it, sticking their eye up to the mouth or just banging it on the table, Odval is shown wincing in the background. Whenever he gets his hand on it though, he handles it carefully and correctly, as only a firearms expert would.

The kicker comes during Bean’s trial, when he calls the pistol a snub nosed, pearl grip wand, suggesting he hasn’t only seen a gun before but has a relatively in depth knowledge.

Odval ordering the original hit on Zog seems obvious, but it still doesn’t explain how Odval knows of Steamland or has knowledge of their technology. Perhaps Season Two will provide more answers.
