Doctor Who: 10 Things We Want To See In 'The Day Of The Doctor'

8. Paul McGann

As mentioned in the last section, Paul McGann is in the best position of all the pre-reboot Doctors to accurately portray his incarnation of the universe-saving Time Lord. McGann€™s years of aging since his last screen appearance in 1996 could actually help the show through creating that war-torn look they will surely be trying to capture in the Time War setting. McGann has definitely surpassed the other Doctors and given the most time and effort into the Big Finish audiobook universe, despite only appearing onscreen once. It would be a lovely thank you from the main Who unit (Whonit?) in Cardiff if Moffat let him come in for the 50th, if only for a few fight scenes and a long overdue regeneration. It wouldn't have to take up the whole episode, but it would certainly please a lot of fans. At least a lead-in mini episode maybe?
