Ian Chesterton (as played by William Russell, above) is no fool, and when he spots a familiar blue box nearby... and notices one of his teachers takes to disappearing on the spur of the moment, he knows something is going on. However, much time has passed since his original travels, and he knows he's not up for the rigors of getting involved with The Doctor again, but there's this young teacher, perhaps a bit on the nosy side, always getting into trouble, named Danny. Perhaps the man can look into matters on his behalf and, possibly, if and when the time is right and nothing strange is afoot (as if that could ever happen in this series!), invite his old friend The Doctor over for tea. Of course, Ian hasn't ever seen regeneration before, having traveled with only the original Doctor, before the term "Time Lord" was even used, so perhaps he might not believe that the current version is the same man (Could he be an imposter?). Again, the possibilities for complication are enormous, and quite frankly, this show runs well on complications... almost as well as it used to do on mystery, back before all these secrets had been revealed.
