10. Doctor, Doctor
This track holds a particularly special place in my heart, as it is written and sung by an Australian Trocker like myself - it's not often that an Aussie Whovian makes it big on the internet, and that's exactly what this guy has done. His Trock name is Mr Saxon (in an allusion to the Master's alias from series 3) and the track "Doctor Doctor" made it onto DFTBA Records' 2009 compilation "Trock On" - a pretty big deal for a kid who stated in his YouTube video for the song that he wrote it "in about five minutes... I hope it's alright" and wasn't sure how it would fare. I'll say this for "Doctor Doctor" - it's catchy and it has a great sound. Reminiscent of mainstream acoustic rock bands like Powderfinger, Hunters and Collectors or Eskimo Joe, Mr Saxon uses his talent to combine the mainstream rock genre with the niche theme of Doctor Who. He does this well - the first line of the chorus, "Oh Doctor, Doctor, please take me away" captures the biggest wish of every Whovian - to be swept off their feet by the Doctor and taken aboard the TARDIS to some alien world. If you're handy with a guitar, this would be a great one to play at a party full of Doctor Who fans - just watch everyone crowd around and sing along! Mr Saxon's Music:
