Doctor Who Review: Time Heist - 5 Ways The Check Was Cashed (And Bounced)

2. Debit: The Villain

Timeheist02 The face of a villain is never as interesting as what makes them tick. Looks are immaterial, all that matters Is the reason they are choosing to take action. In this case the monster is the beautiful woman while the frightening creature is a pawn in her game of intimidation. While not an original idea it€™s an interesting avenue to explore story-wise though that doesn€™t happen. There is no follow-through in this script. Ideas are presented in the most superficial manner and left stranded. Madame Karabraxos€™ regret is unbelievable and convenient. If she were not built of the thinnest cardboard it might have worked but there is nothing to suggest that any remorse exists in her character. There are ways of hinting at that, a bit of foreshadowing would not have gone amiss.
