Doctor Who: 10 Celebrity Cameos From The Revived Series

1. Professor Brian Cox (The Power Of Three)

Topping the list of the best Doctor Who celebrity cameos (so far) is Professor Brian Cox, purely because his association with the series has continued off screen, too. The physicist briefly appeared in The Power of Three in 2012 to discuss planet Earth's invasion of the mysterious cubes but last year he explored the science of the series in a special documentary to coincide with the show's 50th anniversary festivities. It was a fascinating insight into whether or not the Doctor's timey-wimey lifestyle could ever exist in the real world (the answer was an unequivocal no, by the way, although it's not so far from the truth...) and it's definitely worth checking out if you're the sort of the Whovian who likes to delve a little deeper into the scientific accuracies of the show's mythology. Brian Cox's work in general is great, really - he's got some interesting theories about what could be out there and he'd no doubt have a lot to say to the Doctor on the subject, too. Perhaps one day he'll get the chance to. What do you think of this list? If your favourite celebrity cameo didn't make it to the Top 10, let us know in the comments section below. Are there any other celebrities that should make an appearance in the series?
