6. The Judoon
How about a Law and Order style crime drama starring a group of no-nonsense space rhinos? In my mind, there's nothing that could spice up the tired formulae of legal procedurals more than the Judoon. They travel throughout the galaxy, doling out punishments as they see fit. No mercy, no compassion, just the law. Unless. Maybe there's one particularly sensitive and articulate Judoon, who marches to the beat of his own drummer, plays by no one's rules, and various other metaphors. We can watch as he (or she -- do Judoon have gender?) struggles to reconcile his nature as a Judoon with his desire to do right by the people of the universe. Knowing American network television, this series would probably run for the better part of a decade.
