9. Kate Stewart Is Back
Fresh from the announcement that she's just landed her very own Big Finish audio spin off (the first installment, UNIT: Extinction, is scheduled to be released later this year), it's also been revealed that Kate Stewart isn't quite done with the Doctor yet, either. She has certainly established herself as a formidable force to be reckoned with since her initial introduction as UNIT's Chief Scientific Officer in Series 7's The Power of Three. She was lucky enough to be involved in the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, and then Missy went and spoiled it all by doing something stupid like killing her during last year's Series 8 finale. Damn you, Missy. Fear not, though, because she was subsequently saved by her late father, who just so happens to be Doctor Who icon the Brigadier, who also just so happened to be a Cyberman by this point. Just 'cause. Kate will be back to aid the Twelfth Doctor and Clara against Missy (surprise, surprise!) in the Series 9 two-part premiere and something tells us she'll have a bone or two to pick with the renegade Time Lord since the last time they crossed paths she... you know, pushed her out of a plane. Watch out, Missy...
