Doctor Who: 10 Huge Mistakes Made By Characters In The Show

The Doctor himself is not without his faults and that was most evident in his Third and Fourth incarnations. The Third Doctor faced the ultimate price for his arrogance. He stole the blue crystal from Metebelis Three in The Green Death but that act came back to bite him when the spider inhabitants of that planet sought revenge. In the end he was forced to return to Metebelis Three and face the enemy, resulting in his own 'death' and regeneration. The Fourth Doctor was less arrogant but was still responsible for two huge mistakes in his early years. The first, and most infamous incident, was on Skaro in Genesis Of The Daleks. Sent back by the Time Lords to kill Davros, he failed to carry out the act and prevent the creation of his most feared enemy. That mistake cost him everything, resulting in the Time War that followed. Less major but still a failure, was his trip to an unknown planet where he helped the human inhabitants repair their computer Xoanon. The Doctor imprinted his personality into the computer, creating an artificial intelligence with a split personality that forged a war between two tribes. The death and destruction that followed was all the result of his mistake, proving that sometimes there are dire consequences to the best intentions...
