Doctor Who: 10 More Things You Never Knew About Peter Capaldi
4. Moffat Has A Theory To Explain The Many Capaldis In The Whoniverse
Anyone who knows their Doctor Who (don't worry, there isn't going to be a test!) is familiar with the fact that the Twelfth Doctor is not Peter Capaldi's only role in the worlds of Doctor Who. In 2008, he guest starred in David Tennant's episode The Fires of Pompeii (which also featured a pre-Amy Karen Gillan) and a year later he appeared as government official John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children of Earth. But what isn't so well known is that there exists a theory which explains why Capaldi's face is scattered throughout the Whoniverse. Being the mega-fan that he is, Russell T Davies came up with his own private theory when he cast Capaldi in Torchwood. When Steven Moffat made the actor the Twelfth Doctor, he asked Davies if his theory still applied. Apparently it does, and it is thought that the idea will someday be incorporated into the show. Intrigued? You should be!
