4. The Blindingly Colourful
Okay, let's just go for the hat-trick right out - three in a row. Although he asked for a darker outfit, what Colin Baker received was an outfit that was borderline blinding. Why? Well, show runner at the time John Nathan-Turner wanted the outfit to be absolutely tasteless so it seemed like the Doctor only wore it in order to distract everyone else from his personality. As a Whovian, I love the outfit. I'd wear it to a convention any time. Perhaps, like Six, in order to disguise his darker personality Twelve will don a bright colourful outfit as a contrast to how he acts. We know Eleven's darker side was greatly overshadowed by his quirks and personality - even slightly in his outfit by his bow tie. If Capaldi will be showing a darker side, perhaps he'll end up following in the footsteps in his personality half his regenerations ago, and wearing something completely terrible.
