Doctor Who: 10 Predictions For The 10th Anniversary Of NuWho

9. Another Appearance By The Eighth Doctor

Despite fans clamouring for more Eighth Doctor after The Night of the Doctor, it was probably a wise choice not to bring back Paul McGann for more Doctor Who in Peter Capaldi's debut year. Particularly as the nature of the Twelfth Doctor meant it took almost a full series for him to become a likeable hero like the Doctors of old. The focus always had to be in him. But with Capaldi a success in the role, now is the time to revisit the Eighth Doctor once again. Perhaps an appearance in the show itself? While David Tennant and Matt Smith would likely be up for a brief return as the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors, it would probably still be too soon for that after The Day of the Doctor. But Paul McGann could return - the Eighth Doctor had a big connection to the Master so how would he react meeting the Twelfth Doctor and working together to defeat Missy? It could be the highlight of the show. He had a lacklustre TV movie and a brilliant minisode, now the Eighth Doctor needs the television experience he deserves and a story of two Doctors would be the perfect place to do that.
