Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Rose Tyler Is The Definitive NuWho Companion

10. The Moment Said So

Well, this is as good a reason as any, isn't it? Billie Piper has returned to the series not once, not twice but thrice since her original departure at the end of Series 2 and her most recent comeback coincided with the show's 50th anniversary celebrations back in 2013. The actress stepped back into shoes of Rose Tyler in The Day of the Doctor but this time she was actually a holographic projection that had been taken on by the Moment, the most powerful and dangerous weapon in the universe, which had used its telepathic abilities to sense that the War Doctor would need some TLC from a a familiar face from his past... or future. It always got those two mixed up. The Moment possessed the power to destroy all of Gallifrey and the decision - as the important decisions often do - to bring an end to the almighty Time War once and for all lay in the hands of the titular Time Lord. Three of them, in fact! It wasn't really Rose but it was telling that the Moment chose to adopt her appearance in order to reassure the Doctor that there was another way to save the day. Of all of his companions, Rose was there to lead him down the right path once again, albeit in the form of a formidable Galaxy Eater. Where would the Doctor be without her?
