Recently voted the nation's most loved Doctor Who in a poll ran by a close friend of the Doctor Who franchise, Radio Times, David Tennant is also a huge Doctor Who fan. Tennant on many occasions has counted Tom Baker, who played the fourth and longest-serving version of The Doctor, as his childhood hero.

But in 2019 he also added that at the age of ten he also became a fan of his father in law, Peter Davison.

"Peter Davison took over and became equally important to me and then I had Sunday dinner with him like all the time, it was really weird"

Tennant and Davison's version of The Doctor did come face to face in the Children In Need special of Doctor Who, Time Crash, written by future show-runner and superfan, Steven Moffat. The story follows Davison's version of The Doctor finding himself stuck inside the Tenth Doctors TARDIS and being very disapproving of his future self, making note of how he disapproves on the shoes and "the desktop theme" of the TARDIS.
