After heinously writing her name, Susan dared to laugh at them for trying to pronounce it. Its the only time anyone has laughed to their face and they shut her up very quickly. Its a short moment, but it would be because half a second more and they would've paralysed her throat muscles. They only let her get away with it so they could continue to seem nice, but after this scene they spent the rest of the time trying to murder her.
