Doctor Who: 10 Things You Didn't Know About The Weeping Angels

9. We Almost Visited Their Home Planet

Doctor Who spin-off Class was cancelled after just one series, which is a right old shame, because it was super enjoyable.

The fact that we're not going to get more episodes is also a huge disappointment for fans of the Weeping Angels, because the iconic villains would've played a bigger part in the show had it continued on for another series.

The final episode of Series 1 concludes with a Weeping Angel cameo, and according to Class' creator, Patrick Ness, Series 2 would've seen them return in a much more important way, because there were plans to visit their home planet:

“Just imagine the stingingly great stuff Blair [Mowat, composer] would have come up with when we got to the Weeping Angel home planet in Season 2..."

Little else is known about the future of Class, but it's highly unlikely that we'll ever get to see it return.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
