Doctor Who: 11 Reasons To Love The 11th Doctor

9. His Hair

His Hair Such a fantastic mop! How wondrously does it curl about his forehead! Such animation, such variety! It's a playful hair, apt for such a playful Doctor; and yet, do children not sometimes play the villain? One of the most excellent things about the 11th Doctor's hair is its adaptability. It's a sort of longish kind of haircut that looks very contemporary and "cool" bouncing around above a tweed jacket (there's another reason bowties caught on€”the 11th Doctor was quite good looking), but also looks sinisterly dark and appropriate in the melancholy shadows of his post-Ponds TARDIS, somehow so apt as a part of his Dark-Victorian-London-inspired get-up (the glasses do add a lot as well). His hair is beautiful and animated, but never distracting€”it works on many levels and in many costumes. It is the perfect "Disguise Hair," appropriate for period disguise and modern fashion€”but of course, also very at home during play and silliness. Other haircuts lend themselves better to gravitas, or ridiculous antics, or intellect€”the 11th Doctor's haircut lends itself perfectly to all situations, all time periods, and all attitudes. It just works.
