Doctor Who: 15 Villains That Should Not Come Back

11. The Wire - The Idiot's Lantern

Screen Shot 2013-07-17 at 5.55.41 PM I won't lie. I love this episode. Yes, there are huge plot holes. "Hungry, hungry!" is admittedly not a particularly rousing statement unless it is immediately followed by "hippos" (in which case it becomes awesome). Yes, the victims should have all died for lack of oxygen, food, and water. But Ten has a quiff and his oral fixation makes an appearance and there's a detective inspector who both detects and inspects and there's a woman who comes into her own and kicks out her emotionally abusive husband! Also, Rose's shoes. Okay, so it's not a great episode, and the Wire is pretty much the worst part of it. As I am one of the four people in the entire world to actually like this episode, Doctor Who is likely to remain Wireless. Still, the Wire was only Beta-maxed and taken aboard the TARDIS. For all we know, Ten forgot to tape over one of Season 2's least impressive villains and the Wire is hanging out with the Carrionite Witches as they bide their time.
