Doctor Who: 15 Villains That Should Not Come Back

10. The Creature - MidnightScreen Shot 2013-07-17 at 5.58.10 PM A lot of Nu-Who viewers seem to be divided over "Midnight," and I can certainly understand why. Almost the entire episode takes place in a single location, we never actually see the creature that is terrorizing the tourists, everything pretty much screams "low budget." At the same time, it's an unsettling look into the dark side of human nature, and watching the other passengers trying to "Lord of the Flies" the immobilized Doctor is surprisingly creepy, considering that we know that he's not exactly going to be flung out and left to die in a standalone. I fall into the category of viewers who loved the episode, and it's not so much that I don't want the creature to come back because of the fantastic lack of closure (and the fact that "Midnight" wouldn't have worked with a Doctor other than chatterbox Ten) as well as the unlikelihood of a feasible plot to bring it back, but Moffat has a bad habit of bringing back scary monsters and then over-explaining them until the fright is gone. And if you think that I'm building up to a certain villain, just you wait.
