4. Zayn Malik Cast As New Companion

He's insecure... don't know what for... he's turning heads when he walks though the TARDIS door... Well, according to WhovianNet, anyway, who unveiled Zayn Malik as the Doctor's coveted new companion as part of their April Fool's prank this year. The singer, who recently turned is back on One Direction to pursue new solo projects, looked set to replace Jenna Coleman as the Time Lord's time travelling sidekick in his new role as Henry Joseph, "a university student who put his geography degree on hold to explore the universe". Zayn was apparently thrilled to be making his official acting debut in Doctor Who, too, and even Steven Moffat was excited "to show the world that he can do more than just sing". It managed to create quite a stir on Twitter, but it doesn't take much when the formidable One Directioners are concerned. One faithful fanatic tweeted: "Zayn in Doctor Who is the only reason I'll be watching Series 9!", while another devotee cried: "Is this real life???" Sorry, but no. We wish Zayn all the best for his future endeavours, though.
