Doctor Who: 8 Greatest Things Russell T Davies Contributed To The Whoniverse

Very few Whovians would have expected that they would be laughing in the episode after Doomsday, in which Rose Tyler departs Doctor Who. However, that was before they met Donna Noble in The Runaway Bride.

Donna, 'the best temp in Chiswick', brings much needed humour as she helps guide the Tenth Doctor through his post-Rose grief, and even saves the Doctor's life when it looks as though he may go too far while battling the Racnoss Queen.

Donna was so popular after her first appearance, that when actress Catherine Tate was willing to come aboard full-time in series four, Davies jumped at the chance.

A companion who truly became her Doctor's best friend, Donna is loved for having some of the best character development in NuWho. She is truly a different person at the end of her time with the Doctor than she was at the beginning, which of course makes the eventual reason for her departure from the series - in which she is forced to forget her experiences - all the more heartbreaking.

Kristy Anderson hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
