Doctor Who: 9 Reasons The Twelfth Doctor Is The Best Ever

3. Rated 'M' For Mature

Parents have been concerned recently that Doctor Who has become too scary. While these fears are often voiced with each series of the show, the cries were redoubled when Peter Capaldi burst onto the scene. Indeed, when the darker interpretation of the Doctor made his debut, there was an outcry of scaring and alienating younger viewers. Naturally, these complaints came from parents and not from the children themselves and, in the words of Steven Moffat himself, "Everyone loves to be scared sometimes, whether they're children or adults". The fact that this new Doctor speaks to children as though they were adults means that kids may no longer feel that they're being mollycoddled by the show. This can only be a good thing - the maturity of the show and of the recently regenerated Doctor mean that younger viewers may start to realise that they're just as important as grown-ups. If the Doctor thinks so, why wouldn't they?
