Doctor Who: BBC Centenary Special Trailer Breakdown - 11 Things You Must See
4. Lots Of Guns
This ones a bit of an interesting entry.
It seems strange to bring up the fact character's wielding guns, as it isn't uncommon in Who, but how many shots (pun not intended) do we need in one 30-second trailer? Most notably, forgetting the fact Daleks and Cybermen have inbuilt weapons, is its the Doctor's friends and companions who seem to be taking up arms.
The trailer shows both Tegan, Ace, Vinder, Kate and even Yaz, all arming up for Thirteenth's last adventure. Now we know we can expect Kate and Vinder to be armed, we've seen that as a part of their character's before, and rightfully so, but the others?
We've seen Ace using the odd bit of Nitro-9 and baseball bat to help her along her way, but full blown machine guns? Furthermore, seeing Tegan, as badass as it looks using a machine guns, sort of goes against her departure saying she's tired of all the violence. Finally, Yaz pulling a gun in the TARDIS, that's definitely a question your writer want answers for.
This is therefore strange baring in mind, especially in New Who, how much the Doctor hate's guns, even if this is occasionally missed in favour of a little action. It's therefore definitely noticeable the fact all the Doctor's friends, surprisingly besides mad lad Dan, are in possession of weaponry.
Wonder what's got them all under threat?
