Doctor Who: Every Character Who Can Fly The TARDIS

Heather is a strange character who we first met in Series 10. While she certainly looks like an ordinary human, there's actually a powerful alien creature lurking beneath the surface, one that often manifests as... sentient liquid?

Okay, maybe "strange" was a bit of an understatement.

After appearing throughout the first episode of the series and forging a connection with Bill Potts, Heather returns in the finale, rescuing a dying Twelfth Doctor and a cyber-converted Bill, and taking them both to the safety of the TARDIS.

Here, Heather is shown commanding the ship quite comfortably, designating herself as "the Pilot" and claiming that she can "fly anything".

Given the somewhat abstract nature of her character (combined with her limited screen time) the full extent of her abilities isn't totally clear. But the fact that she can fly the TARDIS so effortlessly - and without any training, that we know of - hints that Heather is a creature of immense power.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
