Doctor Who: Hide Review - 8 Little Pieces To Consider

1. Five Leaves Left

Think about stories with reason and rhyme Circling through your brain. And think about people in their season and time Returning again and again - lyrics from €œSaturday Sun€, by Nick Drake I€™m not sure what to think about series 7b yet. It feels like we€™ve been dropped into the middle of something that is shaping up to be quite epic but is for now frustratingly obtuse. This is, of course, Moffat€™s way and I personally applaud for him for it even as I grind my teeth. I think he€™s only partially achieved his stated goal of standalone movies of the week but I have a feeling the overall arc, once it is revealed, is going to be impressive. Is the ultimate question, however, Doctor Who or Doctor, who? Is Clara hidden in plain sight? Perhaps the more important mystery is not who the Doctor is but who are his companions? What is special about them? Why do they choose to travel with him? Why is he drawn to them? As the Doctor explains at the end of €œHide€, €œEvery lonely monster needs a companion.€ As for Nick Drake, well, I leave you with this thought. Remember the importance of Clara€™s leaf? The lyrics I have posted can all be found on Drake€™s first album titled €œFive Leaves Left€. The finale of series 7, counting €œHide€, will be the fifth episode from this point.
