Doctor Who: Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS - 8 Ways To Get To The Heart Of The Matter

8. Time Is Always In Flux

There were a lot of parallels between this episode and €œThe Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang€ series five finale. When the TARDIS is grabbed by the salvage ship€™s tractor beam the monitor cracks. It was very similar to the way the monitor cracked when River flew the TARDIS back to Amy€™s house in €œThe Pandorica Opens€. We also had a reappearance of a crack in time. The recurrent time loops of €œJourney€, especially where Clara keeps returning to the control room are reminiscent of how the TARDIS placed River Song into a time loop to save her as the TARDIS exploded in €œThe Big Bang€. The Doctor resets time at the end of this episode just like he did at the end of €œThe Big Bang€. The Doctor€™s manipulated and reset time quite a bit throughout Steven Moffat€™s stewardship. Might we finally be tying up some loose ends left hanging since series five? We never did find out exactly why the TARDIS exploded in the series five finale. What about the movement known as the Silence? Are we heading for Trenzalore and the fall of the eleventh?
