Doctor Who Regenerations: Ranked From Worst To Best

8. The First Doctor To The Second Doctor

One of the most defining moments of Doctor Who history was when Doctor regenerated for the very first time. Perhaps the most peaceful regeneration seen on screen, the First Doctor simply faded away and in his place was the newly regenerated Second Doctor. While the sheer audacity of recasting your lead actor and explaining it as part of his alien biology is utterly inspired and did, indeed, give us much of the show fans know and love today, it's also a little anti-climactic when it gets down to it. Modern fans may well be used to explosive and dramatic regenerations and thus, this first tentative transition seems a little dull in comparison. It was the 60s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmXoHKzp4Lc

Christie D. Inman-Hall hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
