Doctor Who: Revived Series 14 Stupidest Idiot Plots... So Far

14. Rose Tyler Touched Her Past Self Even When Warned?

Father€™s Day was an episode with a lot of silly aspects to it but was generally recognized as a good episode because of its emotional core enhanced by the performance of Shaun Dingwall as Pete Tyler. When the emotion feels genuine all the silly just became exterior. The character of Rose was terrible in it, though €“shocking, I know. The Doctor and Rose go to the past to witness her father€™s death. Even when warned by the Doctor that it was dangerous to chang the past, Rose goes in and saved her dad, anyways from what was supposed to be her dad€™s destined death. Because of this, creatures named the Reapers appeared trying to kill everyone in sight to fix the timeline €“ Kind of counterproductive if you think about it, but whatever. For some reason, Rose wasn€™t all that traumatized with guilt over the fact that everyone was being killed directly because of what she have done. Let€™s take comfort that she seems to knew it was wrong. By the way, it also implied that the Reapers are the reason why Mickey has no parents. But what was really baffling was that the Doctor also warned her that the Reapers would be more dangerous if she touched her past baby self, yet when the baby was given to her to hold, she didn€™t show any hesitation or reaction at all. As predicted, the Reapers became more powerful, erasing the Doctor from existence (he got better) and for a moment there, all hope was lost. Is Rose Tyler: idiot or sociopath? You decide.
