Doctor Who Series 12: Ten Huge Questions After Praxeus

8. Will We See Gabriela Again?

Preview photographs of Gabriela Camara in the TARDIS caused some speculation about her being a new companion, as if there aren’t enough of them already. The travel vlogger was certainly the most likeable of all the supporting characters in this one, and Joana Borja was excellent in the role, particularly when her character is paired off with Yaz and the two teleport to the bottom of the ocean. Gabriela serves as a great foil to the almost unlikeable and entitled Yaz when she expresses her wonderment after learning where they are.

After losing her Two Girls Roaming co-star Jamila, the second on-screen praxeus victim, Gabriela's life will never be the same again, especially as the two appear to have been inseparable. The Doctor and the TARDIS family return her to Madagascar at the end of the story, but what will she do now? Could she carry on with her vlog solo, will she call it a day, or will she take up Ryan’s suggestion and travel with Jake and Adam?

A person who loves to travel and investigate the unknown, there is no doubt that Gabriela would make an ideal travelling partner for the Doctor. Even if she isn’t back for this year’s finale, could we have just witnessed the next companion in waiting?
