Doctor Who: The New Who TARDISes Ranked

2. The 11th Doctor's Post Ponds TARDIS

Doctor Who 12th Tardis

Travel forward 8 years and we arrive at this console room. Obviously the gold and glass floor of his previous console room reminded him of the Ponds too much so while he was moping around on that cloud, the Doctor decided to have a bit of a rejig. The best part of this TARDIS is most definitely the atmosphere of it €“ it's a fantastic machine-y contrast to the organic TARDIS that Eccleston and Tennant enjoyed. It certainly still feels alive €“ albeit in a much different way €“ right down to the way the lights on the (limited) roundels on the sides spin round, as well as the rotating parts above the time rotor with the Gallifreyan text on. Cogs could be turning in the background and I wouldn't be surprised. This is also the TARDIS we've seen the most of. Admittedly, we could have seen more but at least we got a glimpse of the swimming pool right? It's a more grown up and classic TARDIS for the darker Doctor that the 11th has and hopefully what the 12th will become. On the flipside, at times it can be a bit too dark but that pays off when we get the sweeping 360° shots that the closed set lends itself to. The console itself is also beautiful, harking back to the olden hexagonal days of yore.
