Doctor Who: Village Of The Angels Review - 8 Ups & 4 Downs

7. UP - Yaz Gets Her Moment

Doctor Who Flux Village of the Angels
BBC

The impossible has happened. Chris Chibnall has remembered, for the first time in his entire run, that Yaz is, in fact, a police officer. Maybe he looks at the internet after all.

Yaz, stumbling upon a man-hunt, attempts to apply some modern day policing to the situation (and thanks to Gerald the grumpy git, she’s immediately dismissed, but it’s a start).

When her and Dan are zapped back in time by an Angel, she takes control of the situation, assuming command instead of panicking, and keeps her nerve, despite clocking that she may be trapped in the past considerably quicker than Dan.

This is how a long-time companion should be behaving, and it’s great to see Yaz getting a real moment to shine in this episode.
