Every BoJack Horseman TV Show & Movie Ranked Worst To Best
2. Secretariat
This was the role and the movie BoJack wanted all of his working life. He was Secretariat’s biggest fan when he was a kid, as he was more of a parent to little BoJack than either of his actual parents were, and he wanted nothing more than to tell his hero’s story on screen.
Coming off the back of a Golden Globe win for ‘One Trick Pony’, his name finally had the weight behind it to earn such a casting. This should have been the crowning moment of his life, both personally and professionally, but it never quite worked out.
Studio interference, changing the story, firing the director and bringing in a new yes man to sit in the chair and make BoJack’s life hell led him to breach his contract and leave before the movie was finished. Not only did they finish the movie without him, using his CGI double, they liked the double so much they used it for the entire movie.
Ultimately, there was not a second of true BoJack footage used in the movie, and yet still, it was one of the best things he ever appeared in. People were genuinely moved by the movie, and though he didn’t quite reach the heights of an Oscar nomination, his name was respected once again throughout Hollywoo.
