Every Episode Of The Witcher Ranked Worst To Best
2. Betrayer Moon
The third episode gives us something that many fans were looking for and hope to see in the second season - that being Geralt actively working as a Witcher. The premise of the franchise revolves around Geralt's job, and therefore it is disappointing that the show didn't give us more of a chance to see how the process goes, but here you can see a contract in all its glory.
In this episode, we are given a compelling mystery, a terrifying monster and a thoroughly satisfying conclusion that proves why this formula works. While it can come across more like a side-quest than an overarching narrative, that is part of what makes it feel appropriate.
However, we also get to see the unbelievably stellar evolution of Yennefer from her quiet and tame demeanour to the powerful and confident force that she eventually becomes. The change is handled well not only through dialogue and acting but in the physical transformation that she goes through. When Yen first emerges on the scene with her new clothes, face and attitude you know you are in for something special.
The future of The Witcher will hopefully include far more episodic outings like this that allow us to meet the beasts and curses of the world.
