Every HBO Miniseries Ranked Worst To Best
25. Elizabeth I (2005)
Helen Mirren strikes again in another HBO historical miniseries, this time starring as the eponymous Elizabeth I in Tom Hooper's eventually enveloping drama. The two-part series seems to get off to a slow start during its opening act, but as Mirren and co-star Jeremy Irons really begin to let loose with their roles, the show too soars with them.
Elizabeth I has scandal, politics and mystery, and though there are moments where things seem either slow or inconsequential to the plot, Mirren alone is enough to make it a must-watch.
