The Plot Against America is based on Philip Roth's novel of the same name, and presents an alternate history in which 40s America is steered toward fascism by the ruthless Charles Lindbergh.
Not only does The Plot Against America work as a haunting cautionary tale, but it speaks volumes about the "what ifs" of modern history, and does so by creating a compelling and intelligent story. Beautifully written and sporting a hypnotising tone, the drama is certainly proof that HBO is far from losing its touch.
