Every HBO Series Of 2016 - Ranked Worst To Best

Could anything else have been in first place? At this moment in time, GOT is probably the most talked about drama on television, and season six didn’t so much hit it out of the park, as behead it and kick it across the goalposts.

This season moved like a racehorse, resolving major plotlines – bye now, Walder Frey – and setting the pieces in place for the final seasons. Pretty much every character had their moment to shine, from Sansa getting revenge on Ramsey to The Hound’s glorious resurrection; and that’s to say nothing of Cersei’s comeback in the finale.

If there was a complaint it’s that the season moved too fast, barely giving viewers time to breathe while it frantically tied up loose ends; they sure breezed past Jon Snow’s revival. Still, there’s a reason it’s so popular, and let's hope the game wraps up nicely – for some characters at least – in the next couple of years.
