Every Netflix Marvel Villain Ranked Worst To Best

2. Kilgrave (Jessica Jones Season 1)

Jessica Jones' Season 1 villain, Kilgrave, was undoubtedly its best. David Tennant brought to life the enhanced villain with the ability to control minds. Kilgrave's actions were unquestionably evil but both the show's writers and Tennant himself crafted Kilgrave to be equal parts manipulative and tragic.

Kilgrave wasn't a good person. He kept Jones' mind numb, trapping her in an abusive relationship, yet in constantly pursuing Jones, it seemed that Kilgrave simply sought a real connection in his own twisted way. Jones herself saw this and attempted to teach Kilgrave morality, which went terribly.

Flashbacks to Kilgrave's childhood revealed the torture he endured as a result of his parents' experiments, and so Kilgrave grew up with no perception of morality. Evil was the norm. and the villain has to be held accountable but the character challenged audiences to look at his actions through a lens of nature vs. nurture.

Kilgrave was a clear fan favourite. Although his villainous run ended in Season 1, the character made a cameo in Season 2 and a further voice cameo in Season 3. With audiences unable to let Kilgrave go, he definitely earned his second place ranking.
